Small Home Changes Can Improve Your Family's Health

My husband and I both suffer from allergies and asthma and, unfortunately, two of our children inherited our health problems. Living with both can be a struggle, but we take every step we can to keep our family healthy. One spring, when our seasonal allergies were especially bad, we decided to finally have our carpeting replaced with natural tile flooring and that was a great decision. Even though it seemed like we vacuumed constantly, I guess our carpets harbored more dust and mites than we ever expected! Since then, we have invested in other upgrades to improve our family's health, including antimicrobial kitchen counter tops. I enjoy helping others, so I decided to start a blog to share what we have learned about home upgrades and renovations. I plan to post on a variety of topics, so there will be something of interest to everyone!

Love Your Kitchen? Two Reasons To Install Custom Cabinets

There's a good reason why the kitchen tends to be the most-used room in a home. Food has a way of bringing people together and when you have a warm and inviting kitchen it provides the perfect place for the family to gather around to enjoy each other's company. Great appliances, beautiful, flooring and a vibrant backsplash all contribute to the beauty of a kitchen. However, the space needs to be highly functional as well. If you're ready to make a few changes to your kitchen and want a fix that adds to both the practicality and aesthetic appeal of the room, installing custom cabinets could pack the punch that you're looking for.

Custom Cabinets Offer Made-To-Order Convenience

The cabinets that came with your house might seem good when you first bought the place but things can quickly change once you get all settled in. Some cabinets might be so high up that you have a hard time reaching them. Other aspects of each cabinet, such as the depth, might be so unsettling that you find yourself misplacing more products than you can afford to!

Switching out your cabinets for a custom-made alternative allows you to design your kitchen according to your needs. Perhaps you're a bit on the shorter side and want your cabinets to be lowered so that you can reach items without a stepstool. Or, you want to add a lazy susan to certain cabinets so you can swivel the unit around until you find the seasoning or spice that you're looking for with ease. All of this and a whole lot more is within your grasp when you choose custom cabinets.

Improve The Look Of Your Kitchen With Custom Cabinets

It's amazing how much better your kitchen can look when you upgrade to custom cabinets. The options are nearly endless, with various types of wood and all kinds of colors and hues at your disposal.

Maybe you long for cabinets that are made from dark, rich wood. Or, you might want to brighten up a smaller kitchen with white, almond, or light gray cabinets. You can let your creativity steal the show by choosing unique cabinets that are in complete alignment with your desires.

Putting in new cabinets could completely reinvigorate your kitchen and allow you to fall in love with it all over again. Talk with a kitchen renovations contractor such as Gerald L Scott Custom Cabinetry to learn more about getting custom cabinets today.
